Calvary Community Church (CCC) exists to reach the Greater Puyallup Valley, and the World, for the Lord, Jesus Christ; to heal hurts, build dreams, and bring salvation to everyone.
We believe this will be accomplished by living out the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). We summarize these commandments in the simple statement: Loving God, Loving Others, and Serving the World.
Naturally, because we are a collection of diverse individuals, many with a variety of church backgrounds, we all have slightly different common values that impact how we go about serving Christ. Certain common values unify our efforts and define our ministry. Below are our core values.
We believe that anointed teaching is the catalyst for life change in the lives of individuals and in the church. (Romans 12:7; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:23-25) We believe that lost people matter to God and therefore matter to the church. (Luke 5:30-32; Luke 15; Matthew 18:14) We believe that the church should be relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. (1 Corinthians 9:19-23) We believe that Christ followers should manifest authenticity and yearn for continuous growth. (Ephesians 4:25-26, 32; Hebrews 12:1; Philippians 1:6) We believe that a church should operate as a unified body of believers with men and women being good stewards of their spiritual gifts. (1 Corinthians 12 and 14; Romans 12; Ephesians 4; Psalm 133:1) We believe that loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life. (1 Corinthians 13; Nehemiah 3; Luke 10:1; John 13:34-35) We believe that life change happens best in small groups. (Luke 6:12-13; Acts 2:41-17) We believe that excellence honors God and inspires people. (Colossians 3:17; Malachi 1:6-24; Proverbs 27:17) We believe that churches should be led by men and women with leadership gifts. (Nehemiah 1-2; Romans 12:8; Acts 6:2-5) We believe that the pursuit of full devotion to Christ and His cause is normal for every believer. (1 Kings 11:4; Philippians 2:1-11; 2 Corinthians 8:7) For more information regarding our statement of faith, beliefs, and church membership, sign up for Welcome to Calvary, a one hour orientation to Calvary Community Church.
